Art Transforms Inc. (ATI) is a non-profit organization, founded by an artist who saw a lack of visual art opportunities in communites of color. Linking with other artists to fill in the gap.
ATI is based in South East Queens, NY. Rooted in traditional art techniques, but allow personal creativity to shine in every painting.

We offer a visual art program, exhibitions, and a healing circle to connect people of all ages. Our mission is to support trauma recovery through art by organizing monthly healthy art workshops, an online women's empowerment, and social justice.
Wanda Best, MA, MPA, Artist, Curator
Ms. Best regards art as a powerful medium through which to interpret and engage with the world. She leverages her artistic practice to communicate issues of social injustice, viewing art as a non-threatening avenue for expressing the challenges of pverty, hyper-incarceration, environmental racism, domestic violence, and other societal concerns. With her brushwork and vibrant palettes, Ms. Best not only captures striking imagery but also educates viewers through thoughtfully conceptualized paintings.
With more than three decades of experience, she has facilitated workshops focused on family violence and serves as the Founder and Executive Director of "Art Transforms, Inc." The organization employs creative processes to support healing for victims of trauma, regularly hosts monthly virtual discussions on topics pertinent to the community - such as "The Powder Room", a women's empowerment forum - and organizes exhibitions that highlight social justice through art. Prior to the pandemic, she led weekly visual art classes at Rochdale Village Community Center. Ms. Best advocates community education as an essential strategy to address and reduce family violence, emphasizing the importance of developing practical solutions.
